  21. I'm posting this here because a lot of you like me may work in studios and
  22. production houses where equipment CPU's are in a different room than the
  23. monitor, mouse keyboard etc. workstation.

  25. I recently placed my CPU at home in my closet to make space and get rid of
  26. fan noise.  Everything's great except the SVGA monitor signal looks much much
  27. fuzzier due to signal loss along the 12 foot line.

  29. This may be due to the fact that I plugged three 6' cables together,
  30. because no one had really long SVGA cables.   There may be a lot of loss
  31. around the connectors.   This happens in video all the time.
  32.  
  33. I doubt it would look the same even with a single cable anyways.
  34. So the question is:  Has anyone seen a device that strengthens or remodulates
  35. SVGA signals for long transmission lines?   It needs to be about 15 feet.

  37. I've seen a few SVGA D/A's, but no straight amps.

  39. If I can't solve this I'll have to move the computer back or I'll go blind
  40. reading this text, even on my 21" monitor.

  42. This is for an Amiga with a Picasso card in it, which is basically a modified
  43. PC SVGA card.   So if it's anything that's PC software controlled, I can't
  44. really use it.  But if it's external or just pulls power out of a PC slot,
  45. that's fine.

  47. I hope someone else here can benefit from this so I don't feel too bad about
  48. posting it here.  :)  I just don't have time to post and read PC groups right
  49. now.
